Frizzy and Colored Hair

Frizzy and Colored Hair Treatment

What is Meant by Frizzy Hair?

Frizz hair is hair that does not align with the surrounding hairs. Rather they stand up or curl independently, and create a fuzzy / irregular texture. The three reasons for frizzy and colored hair are heredity, hair damage, and humidity.

Your hair is constantly thirsty . So when its hydration demands are unmet, the cuticles rise up  to let moisture in. As a Result of the excess moisture from the atmosphere results ,the hair swell up and frizz.

As per Ayurveda, Excess Vata causes the hair to be dry, frizzy, brittle, and lusterless. It also causes the hair to become thin, fall off  in clumps. Further it can cause  shorter hair that are more difficult to grow out, and present with split ends.

How this happens?

You just dyed your hair. The color on the packing box looked great, but the end results left your hair dry, brittle, and highly frizzy. The last thing you want is another haircut to remove the damaged hair. So, Is there anything that can be done to repair your color treated hair?

Fortunately, there are numerous tricks to try and tame your damaged hair.  Using a good gentle shampoo such as sutatva’s sulfate free healthy root shampoo  which is free from chemicals such as sulfate are is very useful.  Other treatment would be to avoid chemical shampoos as these drain the hair of its natural oil.  Using Natural Oils such as  sutatva cold pressed coconut oil to treat frizzy hair is another good solution. Olive oil and coconut oil are two of the best oils for hydrating dry, brittle hair. For a deep oil treatment, massage the oil into your scalp and let it  work it into your hair. You can wrap your hair in a towel if you want, or leave it hanging freely. Keep the oil on for at least three hours or sleep with it in, rinse it out with lukewarm water, and condition.
