Applying Ayurvedic oil to hair and massaging is one of the best ways to improve strength of hair and  the hair quality. Besides this Ayurvedic hair oil therapy has several other benefits such as :

  • Calm Mind
  • Improvement in Sleep Patterns
  • Reversing Hair Loss/Hair Fall
  • Prevent Premature Graying of Hair
  • Stress Relief
  • Insomnia
  • Other problems related to Nervous System

The scalp can be massaged with warm oil, preferably infused with hair-nourishing Ayurvedic herbs. Ayurvedic oils for hair and scalp usually include one or more hair-friendly herbs to derive the benefits of massage.

Although there are multiple choices among hair oils, choosing the one that suits your hair type and body condition is what Ayurveda focuses on.

Benefits of Sutatva Essential Hair Oils
Sesame oil:

Sesame oil is the preferred base of oil for almost all massage oils since ancient times. As per Ayurveda, sesame oil users do not suffer from headache, graying of hair, baldness, dandruff or hair fall. Hair remains black, long, deep-rooted.Besides regular use of sesame oil helps in getting good sleep too.Since it induces deep relaxation, Sesame oil is also safe for massage of babies. Moreover,It has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties and protects hair from damaging effects of chlorine.

Coconut oil:

Coconut oil is largely used on the scalp and hair as it prevents dandruff when massaged on dry scalp. Further, it nourishes damaged hair and also acts as a good conditioner. People living in hot climate can use it to keep the scalp cool, as it is an excellent coolant. Since it has a cooling property, application of coconut oil really helps  for people with pitta dominant condition. However, being a coolant in nature, coconut oil when applied to hair by people in colder regions, increases Vata. Vata can cause problem to  people prone to cold, cough, allergies, asthma etc. However, one can still use coconut oil for hair, despite being a Kapha / Vata hair type and living in cold weather. For this, mix a teaspoon of black pepper powder with  100ml of oil, heat it for five minutes, filter it and use it when lukewarm.

Almond oil:

Almond is used in Ayurveda to treat vata-predominant hair (thin, dry and frizzy hair). Due to its rich vitamin E content, high calcium and magnesium content, it is good by itself as an oil for direct massage on hair. It is also great as a carrier oil for other Ayurvedic oils, or to add luster, shine and strength. It also controls hair loss.

Some popular herbs used in Sutatva Essential Ayurvedic Hair Oils are:

  • Amla: Amla is very effective for most hair problems and helps relieve headache, dizziness and other pitta related conditions.
  • Bhringraj: Also known as Eclipta alba or false daisy, holds a solid place in ayurvedic hair remedies, and its name by itself translates to “king of Herbs”.
  • Brahmi
It is a very useful herb to prevent premature hair loss and to increase  the thickness and volume of hair. Brahmi oil is a mix of Brahmi with sesame oil or other carrier oils, for usage on  hair and scalp. Brahmi also helps in calming down the mind and nervous system apart from nourishing the locks.
Healthy Root Oil:

Healthy Root Oil is a wonder Oil from Sutava. It is a Blend of Amla ,Kerela Onion , Kadipata in a base of Coconut and Sesame Oil and acts as an Elixir for curing Dandruff and Hair Fall.
